What should be the medium of education for our children? It should be only its mothertongue.

It is unfortunate more and more English-medium schools are coming up in Tamilnadu. The best way to stop this is to improve the teaching of English in the Tamil medium schools. Then only parents will realize it is possible for their children to learn English well even in non-English medium schools.

In CLIL English is the medium of teaching science subjects-I believe only at the secondary stage. But the primry level only the mothertongue should be the medium. But in a number of states in India even at the kindergarten stage English is the medium. Parents dont realize how much harm is done to the child's growth when an alien language is the medium! What is the remedy?

Should the child be educated only through the English medium if it is to attain proficiency in English? Not at all. Why dont parents realize this?
